Sicily at Expo with social film. Public invited to contribute with videos, photos. The Siracusa tourism board is inviting the public to participate in the creation of a social film that will be shown at Expo Milan in Piazzetta Sicilia from September 19-21, through an initiative called “Sicily in Expo”.
The idea is to promote and create awareness around Sicily through videos and images taken by those who live there, or those who have just visited or gotten to know the island during a vacation. Through the vehicle of a social film – which will be a montage of selected footage and images submitted online by the public, each submission limited to a maximum of 60 seconds of video or up to five images – the project hopes to show Sicily in a simple, natural light, giving space to smaller producers who wouldn’t normally have the chance to be shown at a venue like Expo.
