The Nebrodi area takes center stage at Milan Expo 2015

The Nebrodi area takes center stage at Milan Expo 2015. Local craftsmanship will be presented with ceramic artists and decorators from Santo Stefano di Camastra, with representations within the Bio-Mediterranean Cluster and papier-mache craftsmen from Acquedolci who will showcase reproductions of important local sites.

Then the best of local folk culture will be exhibited, including bagpipers from Galati Mamertino, singers from Troina, the musical school of S.Stefano di Camastra and the majorettes, Alcara Li Fusi and Muzzuni, thetare performancesof the Casa della Cultura and music of the Batia borthers and Figli dell’Officina, and to conclude the week a big party with the Giudei di S.Fratello and the Giants of Mistretta.

During the entire week, performances have been scheduled together with tastings of local products and show cooking events to present local food, including little-known dishes. There will also be an initiative promoting law and order organized by the anti-racket federation of Nebrodi with the presence of local chef Sarino Damiano.

Food will be prepared by representatives of the restaurants Fratelli Mazzurco, the creperie Nebrodi, Vecchio Carro, confectioners Vincenzo Serio and Franco Lazzara and Antica Filanda, with Nunzio Campisis with the presence of Sicilian chefs from the Soste d’Ulisse. Municipalities will show the best of their natural oases, congresses will be dedicated to the safeguard of the environment and the monumental trees from Nebrodi will be presented along with the Mediterranean diet.
