The role of information was discussed during a talk “Mediterranean pride, the role of communication in the promotion of the Mediterranean diet” which took place at the bioMediterranean cluster.
Dario Cartabellotta, manager of the bio Mediterranean cluster, introduced the topic talking about the impact imformation has always had, Andrea Grignaffini stressed communication has greatly improved in recent years.
Giovanni Montemaggiore from Sciacca, chef and teacher at the Catering Institute “Calogero Amato Vetrano” presented the products tasted during the event: eggplant rolls with smoked tuna and and spoobill with a filling of orange zest and capers.
The scientific program promoted by the pavilion of the European Union is part of the ”best practices” selected at an international level. The prize is promoted by Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo and the Italian association of public and institutional communication.
The prize was awarded at the foreign press association in Rome.
The international award ”Euromediterraneo” is one of the most prestigious in the public administration communications sector today in Italy. It is the only initiative in Italy promoting good practices across the entire Euro-Mediterranean area.
The 2015 edition, called ”Next Europe, next Med, Next communication tools”, awarded the European Union’s participation in the world’s fair, recognizing the scientific relevance and importance of over 200 events within the pavilion.
Promoting the European Union within a context such as the world’s fair, said David Wilkinson, commissioner general for the participation of the EU to Expo 2015, has been a great challenge. Wilkinson said organizers invested in content, seeking to stimulate a debate within the international scientific community and that the prize awarded such an effort.
The scientific committee set up for Expo has gathered all work from the past few months and is working on recommendations to be presented to European institutions on October 15 during a great event promoted by the European Union.
